Houston Japan Festival
This festival is a beautiful celebration of Japanese culture that is held annually in Houston’s Hermann Park. It gives great appreciation to the cultural heritage of Japan and recognises its great contribution to Houstons society. You can expect lots of delicious traditional Japanese food, music and arts. With many displays of Ikebana flower arrangements, origami, bonsai and more!
Bayou City Art Festival Downtown
This festival is run by the Art Colony Association in Houston. The aim is to raise money for nonprofits! It has a great Houston community atmosphere and you’re sure to meet lots of fellow art-lovers. As well as see incredible works from some of Houstons best artists and artists from all over the United States too. There are lots of food trucks selling local and international foods.
Houston Beer Festival
It’s time to get boozy! This festival is held annually at the Houston Museum of Natural Science after the house (7 PM-11 PM). The event features dozens of local craft breweries so you can try the best beers that Houston has to offer. And the best part? you still have access to the museum so you can see all of the exhibits whilst picking up beer samples along the way.
White Linen Night In The Heights
This is a festival held annually to celebrate all of Houstons local independent businesses. There will be a huge number of stalls from independently-owned stores, shops and restaurants. It’s a great chance to see what Houston has to offer and find fantastic new places too!
Puppies For Breakfast
This is without a doubt Houstons biggest and best dog festival! It’s held annually on May 6th on Clinton Dr Street in a 40,000 square foot green space. And not to forget the 2500 square foot dog play area for the dogs to roam free and make friends. There will be a fun costume contest, big and small dog contests, food trucks, local business vendors and so much more. Oh, and it’s completely free! So grab your furry friends for a day you both won’t forget.
First Saturday Arts Market
This festival is held on the first Saturday of every month. It’s located in Historic Houston Heights and is completely free to enter. It’s a great place to check out local Houston artists and talents from all over the United States too. With opportunities to buy their artwork at great prices. Expect to see paintings, sculptures, photography, jewellery and much more. With local food trucks to keep your belly satisfied too.
Crawfish Festival in the Heights
Yep, that’s right, a whole festival dedicated to Crawfish. It’s Houstons largest Crawfish festival held in West 20th St Houston and is open to the public. You will find Houstons best Crawfish here, fresh and delicious, big and small. There are also many other different types of goods and services offered at this festival for those that get dragged along and are not Crawfish fans.
